48.853, 2.329, Paris, curated by Rafael Barrientos Martinez

On view new, Casey Leone: 48.853, 2.329, Paris is a traveling exhibition of works by the Fort Worth, Texas based artist Casey Leone. Bringing together objects from seemingly disparate bodies of work, the collective grouping together makes up a small part of a larger ongoing conceptual project concerned with life lessons on making and unmaking. Marked by patterned repetitive gestures across media, Leone's artistic actions and inactions in part aid Leone to simultaneously document and work through various physical ailments that she has endured since her adolescence. These artworks, both individually and communally, have been made to pass the time and are passive in their approach to creation. Embedded within each is an inherent delicacy and fragility that stands in for the artists physical and mental state. From fired ceramics, to manipulated screen captures, woven tapestries, and relics of a life gone by, this exhibition marks the first presentation of Leone's cumulative conceptual project and artistic practice.
